If you've been searching for a Utah calligrapher, a luxury live event engraver, or a homeschool cursive curriculum that actually works — you've found the right place. I'm Cheyenne Tucker, the artist and educator behind Simply Lettered Studio and the Simply Lettered Shop, and I am so glad you're here.

It Started With a Chalkboard
Long before I was a professional calligrapher in Utah, I was a little girl who begged her mom for a full-size chalkboard in her bedroom. I'd spend hours teaching my stuffed animals handwriting and addition — completely certain I'd have a real classroom someday. That dream became a reality when I earned my dual degree in early childhood and elementary education and spent several years teaching kindergarten.
When my first son was born, I stepped away from the classroom to stay home. And a few months in — because a former teacher doesn't exactly sit still — I picked up a brush pen and started learning calligraphy. I was immediately hooked.
From Brush Lettering to Pointed Pen Calligraphy
My calligraphy journey began with brush lettering, but I quickly found my way to traditional pointed pen calligraphy— the classic style where a metal nib is dipped in ink to create the signature thick and thin strokes of Copperplate and Spencerian script. This is where my true passion lives.
I am a proud member of IAMPETH (the International Association of Master Penmen, Engrossers, and Teachers of Handwriting) and have studied under and alongside some of the most respected master penmen in the world. I am also a certified American Cursive instructor, bringing my background in education directly into my approach to teaching penmanship.

Simply Lettered Shop: Calligraphy Supplies, Stationery, and Homeschool Cursive Curriculum
Simply Lettered Shop is the educational arm of the Simply Lettered brand — a carefully curated online shop offering calligraphy supplies, stationery, penmanship kits, and most importantly, my signature homeschool cursive writing curriculum: The Cursive Connection.
After years of homeschooling my four boys and watching the handwriting instruction gap grow wider, I created The Cursive Connection — a 40-week Palmer Method cursive curriculum designed for homeschool families and adult learners who want to learn cursive the right way. It's rooted in the same traditional methods that produced some of the most beautiful penmanship in American history, and it's structured to be simple, engaging, and effective — whether you're teaching a 7-year-old or learning as an adult yourself.
The Simply Lettered Shop also carries The Simply Lettered Box — a curated subscription box for calligraphy lovers — along with individual supplies like nibs, inks, pen holders, practice paper, and digital downloads for handwriting and calligraphy practice.
Why Handwriting and Calligraphy Still Matter
In a world of typed messages and digital everything, handwritten communication is becoming increasingly rare — and increasingly meaningful. Research consistently shows that writing by hand improves memory, focus, and fine motor development in children. For adults, the slow, intentional act of cursive writing and calligraphy practice offers a meditative, screen-free creative outlet that nothing else quite replicates.
I believe that cursive handwriting is worth preserving. I believe that a handwritten letter carries something a text message never can. And I believe that learning to write beautifully — whether through a structured cursive curriculum or a calligraphy course — is one of the most valuable skills a person can develop.
Words never lose their value — especially when they're written by hand.
